Forum 3-Seater Sofa
Lead time: Made to order (3-4 months)
Description
Experience the timeless beauty of mid-century design with the Forum, a remarkable creation by the world-renowned designer, Robin Day. Initially unveiled to the world in 1964, the Forum is an emblem of design ingenuity and stylish aesthetics, making it a cherished piece in the annals of furniture design. This celebrated sofa and armchair set feature a meticulously crafted hardwood frame, accentuated by finger joint details, and supported by chrome plated legs purposefully mounted to the exterior of the frame. The Forum is a masterclass in transparency of design, a testament to Day's vision of showcasing the inherent beauty of its construction elements.
Bringing this iconic design back into production, Case has joined forces with the Robin and Lucienne Day Foundation. This exciting partnership aims to reintroduce this design classic to a new generation of design enthusiasts, nearly sixty years after it was first launched. Our team has diligently examined the original design drawings and production examples to ensure the renewed production maintains the integrity and ethos of Robin Day's original design.
Our attention to detail is unparalleled, as is evident in our precise replication of the unique seat angle and the full-width timber plank casing, trademarks of the original Forum design. While staying true to the original design aesthetics, we've also embraced modern materials and techniques to enhance comfort and durability. Our cushions are now wrapped in Dacron, a state-of-the-art material that ensures superior comfort while maintaining the structural integrity of the cushion. In a nod to sustainability, we've replaced the original tropical hardwood veneers with solid walnut or oak, bringing a modern yet timeless appeal to the piece. Moreover, to ensure the longevity of the Forum, we've incorporated a metal-reinforced frame to add strength and durability.
Whether you're a lover of mid-century design or looking for a unique addition to your living space, the Forum, with its splendid aesthetics and high-quality craftsmanship, is a worthwhile investment. It's not just a piece of furniture; it's a conversation piece, a touch of design history that brings character and sophistication to any room. Enjoy the craftsmanship and timeless design of Robin Day's masterpiece, now back in production, and let the Forum enhance your living space with its unique charm.
