Maintaining and cleaning tatami mats is essential for preserving both their aesthetics and durability. For the best results, vacuum the mats regularly to remove dust and other impurities. When vacuuming, set the vacuum cleaner to its lowest suction setting, and vacuum in the direction of the rush grass/rice straw. For stains, it's recommended to use a clean cloth dampened with lukewarm water and a mild soap. It's crucial to be cautious with the amount of water and soap used, as too much can damage the mats. After cleaning, it's important to let the mats dry completely before using them again. Dry and sunny days are best for airing out tatami mats. For a deeper clean, a professional cleaning service is recommended. Tatami mats are very sensitive to moisture, so make sure there is always circulation either above or below the tatami mat.

Orders shipped to Norway may be subject to customs duties and taxes, which are separate from shipping fees and not included in your order total. These must be paid directly to the carrier or Norwegian authorities. We do not collect any of these fees during checkout.

Whether an item is eligible for return or cancellation, it is indicated once the product is added to cart, and throughout the checkout process.

To initiate a return, email customercase@thatcooliving.com for authorization. A 25% restocking fee and return shipping costs will be deducted from your refund. Returned items must be in their original condition, unassembled if applicable, and in the original packaging.

For damage claims, report within 2 days of delivery. Include photos of the packaging before opening, pictures of the damage, and a copy of the signed Bill of Lading (BOL) highlighting the damages.
